Welcome to my world

Hello fellow Jewellery lovers and welcome to my world. I am going to take you on a journey of worship and fantasy that may lead us all down the rocky road to temptation but then what is life without beauty and sacrifice?

When I was dazzled by the first piece of exquisite jewellery I was allowed to try on as a child, I knew in that one moment sitting on the floor of my darling grand mother's bedroom that I was hooked for life. Just being around such treasures was a joy and a bonding experience all little girls love.

As a woman I progressed to bespoke and to see my vision spring to life in the hands of a great designer was and is a thrilling experience that everyone should experience as often as possible.

In this blog I will bring you my observations, ideas and inspirations so that we can revel in outrageous beauty together...

The Red Box of Desire

Wondering around Fortnum and Mason’s the other day, I was spellbound by their dazzling Christmas decorations.  Huge glittering baubles that would look at home on a 9-foot conifer in a stately home.  That kind of tree would of course demand … Continue reading

Big, Bold and Beautiful

The House of Hemmerle continues to blow my mind on the design front.  Big, bold, colourful one off pieces and that turn traditional jewellery design on its head. I like the almost masculine, modernist twist to their statement pieces and … Continue reading

Harness the power of the stack

I love introducing you to new designers and as the Queen of Bling I tend to err on the side of the super sparkly. There is a case however for pared down sophistication and Pomellato do this very well. Harnessing … Continue reading

A Little bit of Crystal Heaven

The word Lalique used to bring back memories of my great aunt’s vase but not anymore.  Like many luxury brands with a great heritage but slightly dusty clientele, Lalique is dipping its proverbial toe into the fine jewellery market with … Continue reading

Birds of a Feather

I’m really feeling Georgina Chapman’s Collection for Garrard at the moment.  Garrard have a history of unexpected collaborations including a collection for men called Hunter by their Creative Director Stephen Webster (also unusually funky for such a traditional design house) … Continue reading

Midnight at Goldsmith’s Fair

Goldsmith’s is always a sumptuous treat, especially if you’ve saved up all year and intend to splash out.  As soon as I arrived I got chatting to a lady who was eagerly buying a huge amethyst and black diamond ring … Continue reading

A Russian Tale

The best eggs always come in two forms, chocolate and bejewelled!  Great minds obviously think alike as Tsar Alexander III commissioned Peter Carl Faberge in 1885 to create a jewelled easter egg for his wife, thus starting a trend which … Continue reading

I’m in Love… again!

My first mistake was not leaving my credit card at home…  My second mistake was saying the immortal words ‘I haven’t seen anything I have to have’.  Yes, I’ve just returned from International Jewellery London (the annual trade show at … Continue reading

Long live the Gothic King

Theo Fennell is the original gothic genius behind the bejewelled keys and skull rings spotted on elegantly scuffed up rock stars at the kinds of parties most people would kill to get into.  We all breathed a blatant sigh of … Continue reading

Pretty in Pink

Pink Diamonds have always held a special place on my wish list (next to a hide away in Monaco and dinner with Oprah Winfrey) Coloured diamonds are a luxury few ever possess, the deeper in colour, the more nervous one’s … Continue reading
